Loving God, Loving Each Other Part 4

Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs

were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

ACTS 2:43-45

Sharing What We Have

Today’s Focus: God’s people share with each other.

My Decision: I will give what I can to honor God and help others.

THE CHURCH IS IN TUNE WITH GOD:

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. Acts 4:31

The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. Acts 5:41-42

We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him. Acts 5:32

THE CHURCH GIVES GENEROUSLY TO GOD AND OTHERS

The disciples, each according to his ability, decided to provide help for the brothers living in Judea. 30This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul. Acts 11:29-30

1.They were willing to give generously to accomplish the _________________.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9As it is written: “He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-9

2.They gave beyond their ________________.

For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5 And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will. 2 Corinthians 8:3-5
